Also my brain is so full I can barely think, so instead of writing I'll just show for now:
The city is way more green than I would have expected. I am staying in a suburb called Nonoa which is much less green, and my host mom says that there are parts that are all concrete, but from what I've seen its beautiful and it actually smells super fresh!!
First lunch. Meals take like 2 hours here. It was hard for us impatient Americans. Also they dip their bread in what tastes like marinara sauce. :)
Still not sure what this is. Rice and salad. Underneath was like some sort of burrito tasting thing. Every time I've ordered so far its a surprise. Last night what I thought was the main meal (raw salmon) turned out to be the appetizer and I ate so much bread thinking that it was all I would get for dinner that I could barely eat the main dish.. which was.. I can't remember.. I'm too tired.. maybe steak?.
We had to do a scavenger hunt for certain Chilean words. This is a 'kiosco' like a mini-Jackson's without the gasoline.
The hotel I stayed at the first night. Super beautiful.
its so green! This was outside the hotel.
The letter I got from my host-mom this morning. She said her son, Cristobal, is excited to have a "big sister" and she to have a "daughter" =D
This is my bedroom! I thinks its even smaller than my bedroom at the Holly House, which I didn't know was possible, but its very cozy. I need to find some stuff for the walls.
My house is the little green square. There is a girl from my program just down the street so we made a pact to take the metro together until we figure it out. Tomorrow, thankfully, Alejandra's sister will take me to the city so I won't have to worry and I can learn the ropes. Alejandra says the metro station is really close by and it only takes about 15 minutes to get to the city center. Also we're pretty near the mountains (they are at the far right on this map.)That's all for now. Let me know what pictures you want me to take and I'll post them. I'll try to get some pics of the host family up soon. Also they have a cat named Clementina. I'll post a picture of her too :)
